I have to admit, when getting ready for the holidays I always look to see what Martha Stewart has going on. After all, it was Martha who (along with my mom) inspired my love of cooking and decorating and crafting. Inspired by her felt corsage, I created these simple but super cute Hair Holly for my girls.

I have to admit, when getting ready for the holidays I always look to see what Martha Stewart has going on. After all, it was Martha who (along with my mom) inspired my love of cooking and decorating and crafting. Inspired by her felt corsage, I created these simple but super cute Hair Holly for my girls.

Creating it was very simple.

  • Cut the individual leaves from wool felt.
  • Using a sewing machine (or by hand if you prefer) add some contrasting stitches along the edges.
  • Sew (or hot glue) the leaves together, gather at the center.
  • Add a bow and a little ornament for an added festive touch.

Look for unbreakable or plastic ornaments when making for younger kids. Th glass ones can shatter pretty easily. I found mine in a tube at Target.

Be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win our first prize, a Martha Stewart Glitter sampler. Leave a comment below and one lucky winner will receive a finished bow from me to you! I will announce winners for this week’s giveaway Monday AM. So tell your friends. See you tomorrow!

I love the hair holly….but doubt that I could get my 9yo daughter to wear it……maybe if I put a pic of Justin Bieber instead of the ornament……

I just have to make one of these for my 5 year old. She’d love it as a headband and the bell. . . will set this over the top!

This is cuteness! I have to boys, so I don’t need to be in the giveaway, but just had to drop a line and let ya’ know how cute these are!

What a cute idea! Just yesterday we cut my 3 yr olds hair for the first time so I didn’t think a pull back would work. Thank you to Alaina who mentioned a headband. That would work! So many projects this weekend!
