As always, I had such a blast taping another episode of the Paperclipping Roundtable. (link once live) Today’s topic… FamilyHistory (genealogy)

As I shared on the show, the company I work FamilySearch.org is a non-profit organization that offers free genealogical resources. With literally billions of searchable records, a research help wiki, free courses, videos, forums and even more than 4000 Family History centers world wide – you are sure to get off to a great start.

One of my FAVORITE videos is part of the 5 minute genealogy series geared toward beginners.

LIKE ME! This is just the first in the series…

Be sure to check out all the great resources over at FamilySearch.org/learn.

LOVE listening to you on PRT. And I love this topic. I have never really thought about doing family history, but now I might have to get started.

After listening to the PRT, I came right over. Thanks for this. As another Filipina, finding ancestral records has been challenging, but I did score on locating a record for my maternal grandparents and ended up getting names for an additional generation back. I’m very excited about this, since no one in the collective family could remember birthdates or names beyond our grandparents. It’s very exciting and has rejuvenated my interest in locating more info!

EmilynW- you should go check out FamilySearch.org – they recently made a bunch of Philippine records available online. It is so exiting to find new relatives… good luck kababayan!

Loved this episode of PRT about combining family history and scrapbooking. Some genealogy blogging friends and I are getting a group together to take Jessica Sprague’s online Family History album class and then post our results on Sundays in a Family History Scrapbooking Sunday series. Thanks for being part of the inspiration.

I would like to sign up for your newsletter to be one of the ‘first to know’ when FamilySearch launches the FH and Scrapbooking campaigns, but I couldn’t figure out where to do so. Can you help?

    Thank you!

    Jen aka ScrappyGen :)

I did! I’ve bookmarked the Philippines page, also. Lots of stuff there. When I have a chance, I’ll also check out the Irish section to help out my husband’s sisters who got me started on these fact finding missions. It’s so exciting when you’ve scored on some valid info!

    Maraming salamat po!
