March 2011

This week’s installment of the Paperclipping Roundtable was such a joy to tape!  Learn all the tips and tricks of the panelists to channel your creative side discover the secrets for keeping that creativity at a low simmer all the time.  Noell Hyman, Nancy Nally, Izzy Hyman, and newbie panelist Tammi Morrison and I let all hang out in this very fun episode.

This week, my pick was the Sizzix e-clips. Because of all the wedding hoopla, I will have to hold my FULL REVIEW of it till next week. But I hope you’ll come back for a very in depth review of my latest toy.

The wedding countdown is well underway… I am up to my eyeballs with paper goodies. These flowers are going to make fantastic centerpieces. Making them is fun, and I have them in a variety of flower types. My new eclips* has become a very key part of the process – taking all the work out of cutting the flowers.

To create a centerpiece, you will need to start by making the flower picks. To go with our homespun theme, I decided to keep the sticks bare, and use only white paper. Of course you can paint the sticks to match or coordinate with your colors. Printed papers with small patterns also look very cute. This tutorial covers the daisy, which is a double flower.

National Craft month and pink week here on Craftification continues with Label Box. My latest iPhone addiction. A simple app that allows you to easily add cute little labels to your photos.

The app creates a copf of the image, so your original stays untouched.

Using the app is super easy. After choosing the photo and label style, simply swipe that page and type the sentiment. You can save the image or immediately upload for sharing on your favorite social network. Of course, the pink label is my favorite!

20For a limited time, Label box is FREE! It comes with 8 label styles with four more available for in app purchase. Check it out!

GIVEAWAY ALERT

Leave a comment for your chance to win a $10 itunes card and a label and ribbon grab bag with spools of fun ribbon (the real stuff). If you don’t have an i-device I will beef up your ribbon prize.

March is quite a month for me. I am putting together three birthdays, my daughter’s baptism, a bridal shower, a bachelorette party, and a DIY wedding. What better excuse to fulling immerse myself in National Craft month than all these fun events. So lets kick things off (finally) with Pink Craft Week.

We have all seen these fun puff balls (made popular by Martha Stewart) But try another take on them… string them into a garland for an easy puffy garland. To create a puff garland is easy. You will use the same technique as the larger one with just a couple simple adjustments.

I absolutely LOVED this week’s episode of the Paperclipping Roundtable! We talked smartphone photos and more crafty tech talk.

Some of the layouts I talked about can be seen in a previous post right here. . .

I also wanted to share more of my favorite iphone and ipad photo apps. I have tested and played with literally dozens of them… and these are the ones I keep, play, and scrap with on a regular basis!

I have decided to postpone the kick off pink week for just a couple days to March 3.

TWO REASONS.

  1. wedding tasks – NO NOT MY WEDDING! My little sister! I am creating all the decorations, invitations, some jewelry, favors etc. The bride informed me of the need for 50 more invites…so off to create more of those lovely little ones as we speak.
  2. ZOMBIES- specifically the Plants VS Zombies game on my iPad. I am addicted and it has sucked the life force from me.

However, after another very fun taping of the Paperclipping Rountable, I am totally inspired! Once the episode is available, I will post details from the show! Until then Happy Zombie killing and as always. Think Pink!
