In our family… we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. We start by having a big feast.
After some picture taking, we usually change into our matching Pj’s. (We have had matching Pjs since I was a kid!) Then the wait. We play games, watch movies, and eat eat eat as we wait for midnight. It is at that time that we open our presents! And yes… eat some more. As always, it was so much fun spending time with the family. And seeing the kids open up their gifts is always such a treat. Christmas morning is all about Santa of course. And that is my day, to do a whole lot of nothing!
I hope that your holiday was merry and bright!
I just LOVE gift wrap. Always have.
In fact, I love wrapping gifts so much… I pretty much hijack all the gifts and wrap them myself. Well coordinated wrapping has been a family tradition for us. It really started with my mom. For years, we would have a solid color wrap and colored ribbon. Each gift lovingly wrapped and then tied with the most beautiful ribbon bows.
For as long as I remember I have been in charge of our gift tags. From the time I was a teen, I would scour the pages of Martha Stewart looking for the perfect bit of inspiration – then make it my own. Which usually meant spending a fraction that Martha did!
Now, the tradition lives on. This year for my pink themed Christmas – We have silver and metallic pink wrap with brightblue and pink ribbons. I have a variety of tags, and for some… I have simply used letter sticker from my stash to label the name of the recipient directly on the package! Thanks to Walmart and Tai Pan trading, these gifts only LOOK luxurious!
Our lovely living room… thanks to Mama! She stayed up 36 hours to decorate our whole house! It’s like having our very own elf…lol.

This gorgeous wreath is evidence of where I get my creative side. Mama made this wreath by hand, including every component. It was even published in a holiday idea book! So anytime she tries to tell you she’s not crafty.. don’t believe her!
We love holiday decorations at our house. But I have to admit.. that as much I as I like to make decorations… I dont like to out them up. That is all MAMA. Here are some highlights for today… come on in!

I had several requests for these. So some mini kits for the ornaments are up in the store.
VERY limited quantity. Will ship priority to ensure holiday delivery.
Kits are available with mica or genuine imported german glass glitter.
So my family and I have decided to try making an ornament a day. (Feels impossible, so we will see.) I created this little ornament that is super quick and easy to put together. (Full instructions will be on the Scrapbook Trends blog later today) My little one loves to paint on the glue and glitter each piece. And I finish them off with a little embellishment.

And here are some variations.

The big flaky glitter is from Martha Stewart, and the other darker glitter is German Glass Glitter from Meyer Imports. (my fave stuff, but not at all kid friendly)
Tips:
- Whenever I make ornaments and other home decor items, I try to use matboard or chipboard so that the shape is really stiff.
- I prefer using collage pauge ”sparkly” rather than glue. It holds just as well, but it leaves a little sparkle on places where the glitter doesn’t quite make it.
- Use colored mat board and you won’t have to paint, saving on time.. and clean up.
Materials: die cut (Sizzix round ornament 3D*) glitter (Martha Stewart, Meyer Imports) buttons & crepe paper (Jenni Bowlin) ribbon (from Tai Pan Trading) glue (Collage Pauge by Traci Bautista)
