Card

Girly Goodness

This was a very fun and easy card to make. I started by applying this very cool chandelier rub-on by hambly to the front of a card. I used a craft knife to cut out a “window”. Notice how I followed the line of the chandelier.

Then I attached these gorgeous vintage glass drop beads from the chandelier and added some glass cabs.

For the inside of the card, I added an overlay page into the card. To hold it in place, I punched holed through all the layers and used wire to create the binding as shown.

A few more stones and rub-ons and you are done! This same technique works great for minibooks as well as scrapbook pages. Try adding 3-D elements to parts of rub ons like letters, jewelry, and other icons.

So, for those who have been wondering where the heck I have been…

Here it is. Basically as the online editor, I have been working along with the rest of my team round the clock on this launch. And as anyone in tech or publishing knows, a new site launch is a massive undertaking. argh. And honestly, we are not out of the woods yet. This first release is just beta, so now, we get to fix all the little problems that pop up.

I did however get to escape to Cali for a few days. that was nice. (though I worked solild for the last few days of my ”vacation”) Here are my girls and Ashley our longtime family friend on the 4th of July.

For more news… I am getting ready for CHA. So no rest for the weary. But if you are going, stop by the CK booth, I will be there showing off our new “baby” (the website, I am not with child) I will also be walking the floor… needless to say. It will be fun.

And finally, I will be relaunching my own website right after CHA. So please be patient. But it will be bigger and badder than ever. Weekly challenges, prizes, recipes, design ideas, sewing crafts, and more stories from the coco-”NUT”-house. Not to mention my etsy store and other fun little goodies.

ok,I know it’s Thursday, but we had some technical difficulties! But here it is.

Letsplaywed
This is one of my all time favorite layouts. It was inspired by calendars and mini-books. This layout is comprised of smaller 3.75×3.75″ mini layouts. These happen to document a year in our life.

To make this layout simply create your mini-layouts of first. I punched a hole in the corners and reinforced the holes with eyelets. Then I used a jump rind int he corners to bind the whole thing together!
