cheese cuddler

by coconutgoddess on May 29, 2008

so i decided to get another job. (for those of you who remember that show "In Living Color" yes, i am like the crazy Jamaican family with a billion jobs) i am working part time as a cheese monger. (Sierra keeps calling me a cheese cuddler)

i have to say, it is quite a little adventure. for those of you not "into" cheese, let me just say, the world of artisanal cheese is a vast one. in fact, one can spend YEARS learning about cheese and only scratch the surface of all there is to know. so, it is a hobby with the benefit of a pay check.

so to help me build my knowledge, there is no better way for me to learn, than to teach. so stay tuned for some follow along cheese courses right here. until then… happy eating!

the girls are so excited that there are only two more days of school. and honestly, so am i! i love summertime. usually means fairs, festivals, and lots of yummy food. to wrap up the year, sierra’s school put on the 4th grade program. what fun.

Cowgirl

the only thing that gets to me, is how big my dear daughter is! i can hardly believe that this is her. sierra did great. she really gave it her all, and the best part, is that you can really tell she had a great time.

as for me, work is still crazy. seriously insanely crazy. but i knew that going into this massive project i am working on. the nice thing, is that i can finally see the light at the distant end of the tunnel. [but at least it is there] so with a prayer in my heart, some redbull, and a little help from my friends, i think i will actually make it through this.

Trip

sorry this is so dang late! but this week's LPW is all about fast and easy. simply put, a little gift for my dear friend Robert. lately i have been getting into this terrible cycle.

i have an idea to create something special for one of my dear friends, life gets crazy, i run out of time for the grand project, i end up sending nothing. how awful! so i decided to scale back my project and send something that was light on time, but full of love!

i hope that this will inspire you to do the same. make a quick card or display for a loved one. don't obsess on the grandeur of the project. just add lots of love, and i know that your recipient will love it.

slap me once…

by coconutgoddess on May 27, 2008

what a great day. the sun is shining, it is a short work week, and i had a wonderful weekend with my babies. and you know what, it is NOT monday! woo hoo. what did you do this weekend? I worked Sat, did the sunday thing, then Monday brought the kids to a chuchwagon breakfast, to the pool, and then a BBQ at the house. yes, today i am tired, but it is a happy tired!

so i am feeling inspired again this week. [and thank you to everyone who patiently waited as my poor blog went on hiatus while i got my crazy life back into check] so first let's get caught up.. the winner of the PC Issue is…

Winner

email me your addy and I will get that sent off right away.

i hope that you had a chance to enjoy your families and think of the many lives that have been sacrificed for us and our great nation. and what a great nation it is. only in america can a wedding singer find her way to working in publishing. (and for a publication she is so passionate about too!) this weekend my family spent time with our good friends from down the street. we got to meet her parents, and her mom, a sweet filipino lady not unlike my mom inspired me with my new favorite quote. i am calling it, the silver rule. (not quite gold you see)

"Slap me once and I'll Slap you TWICE" anyone who really knows me, understands that this sums it up just perfectly. haha.

so this week let's play. tomorrow is Let's Play Wednesday. Swing by for a super giveaway and hopefully a little inspiration. Friday I will announce the winners and post a weekend challenge and project! see you tomorrow.
