Valentines Day has always been a little bitter sweet. I love that I have an excuse (not that I needed one) for all pink and girly decorations. But this year I am just a little extra spirited now that I am engaged! And getting married shortly after Valentines Day.

This is the main window in the main room. When you walk in this is what you are greeted by. I used tissue paper pom pons to create a festive focal point above the window. The garland across this middle is my favorite.

I started by cutting out some favorite valentines and love themed shapes. I used my Silhouette Cameo to make short of work of it. I didn’t really do any planning to begin with. I just cut lots of shapes and figured they will find a home somewhere!

Using little holiday light hooks on either side of the window, I stung a length of bakers twine across the window and placed the various cut outs along the twine. I used various textures and papers in clouding some kraft polka dot wrapping paper I had left over from the holidays.

Did the same thing for some smaller garlands that are hanging off my book cases. The polka dot bunting uses scraps of wrapping paper affixed to bakers twine with some washi tape. The hearts are simply tied one the twine.

I also put up another bunting re-using some elements from my engagement party! Valentines Day is all about love after all. Same idea as the window bunting.
