I am in lovely Anaheim, CA for yet another CHA! I have to admit, I have a love/hate relationship with these shows. Mostly love… after all I still find it thrilling to see all the products that the craft industry comes up with. And I really love seeing old friends and colleauges from the industry that has been so good to me. And yes… every once in a while I get to meet someone kind of cool. (Kathy Ireland yesterday, last year Paris Hilton) The parts I don’t love so much… incredibally long days that still leave me feeling like I don’t have enough time and sore feet. (just day 1 and my dogs are tired!)
So to answer my dear Sedona’s question… “What do you on your trip mommy?” Here is a day at CHA.
Today is like most. Up early… out the door for breakfast appointment before my first floor meeting at 9.
Then a day spent between appointments and walking the floor.

(the always love Traci Bautista)
When the show closes I will spend a couple more hours at the business workshops before grabbing a bite to eat.
After a very quick dinner… off to tape another episode of Paper Clipping Roundtable – LIVE from CHA. (This is going to be a blast, again seeing good friends)
Once that is done, back to the hotel for “drinks” with colleagues and old friends…

(Melanie Wood from acdSee – My canadian sista!)
then up to the room for emails, photos, blogging and other work related stuff.
A fun, but long day for sure. Well, I better go! CHA awaits! For peeks of products and projects be sure to check out the Scrapbook Trends magazine blog where I am reporting daily and the Scrapbook Trends Facebook page where I will upload additional projects and finds from the show.
It’s 3 am. I have insomnia. I look out my window to find the neighborhood blanketed in white.
All is peaceful. The girls are sleeping.

So the highlight of the weekend was the Vanilla Ice/MC Hammer concert. YES. I really did say that. So my dear friend Brooke hooked us up with tickets… and it was a blast! Ice did a great show. The stage was pretty basic.. in many ways, it was club gig.. just with a much bigger audience. However, it was a good time for sure.
Hammer played all his old school hits. HE can still move for sure. HOWEVER, he STOPPED between EVERY song. THAT was a little annoying. But again, all in all.. uber fun. People watching was amazing too. A lot of peeps showed up dressed in their favorite 80's clothing. We are talking spandex, Hammer pants, and lace, and short shorts. It was funny.. and sometimes really ugly. But more than anything, getting to hang out with my sister and my friends is always a welcome treat!
This was a much needed distraction for sure. I think I am ready to face the week!
ok. i admit it. I have been enlightened. I have walked around my entire life thinking that the whole universal health care thing was just a lame idea. That there was no way that the United States could have it wrong. I am very patriotic and really thought to myself that we MUST have the answers. Sure, something like 46 million Americans are without health care. And countless thousands are in debt up to their eyeballs with medical copays and bills. But, it has to be worse else where.
Until I watched SICKO from Michael Moore. Now. Don't get me wrong. I actually am not a big fan of Micheal more movies. But, well please… watch for yourself. I even found a place you watch it for free online.

After watching this movie, it really made me think. I have not made up my mind, but I am certainly going to arm myself with more education. I hope you will do the same.
