Mondays – especially unseasonally cold ones like the one I am experiencing today… are not really condusive to creativity. Ususally I have way too much to do to take on anything that would take more than just a few moments.

So I decided to spruce up this picture frame that has been on my wall for some time now. I just added the three little rubons to the bottom corner, and it totally spruced it up, making it perfect to showcase this picture of “the Boy”.

I didn’t need to buy anything. The frame was already on the wall, and I had the rub ons in my stash! Go grab a frame, rub on some love – then back to the Monday grind stone!
PS there is still time to enter to win the Echo Park Paper prize package. Leave a comment on any “Creative Daily Post” and be entered to win. I will announce the winner this Thursday and a new giveaway on Friday!
Supplies used: Rub ons (Hambly Screen Prints)

It is no secret that I am an uber fan of my dear friend Allison’s glass work. In fact, I am just about her biggest fan for everything she does. Unable to create the works of art that she does.. I was inspired to make some fun pendants featuring the images she creates for Hambly.

These pendants took 5 minutes to make. To create them, I used Ranger’s glass slides and slide frames.

Shadow box style layouts are not new. But I have to admit, it has been a while since have visited this type of layout, so I decided to try one. And I am glad I did!

To create this layout, you can start with a pre-cut page like I did, or you can cut the windows out yourself. To get the depth for each space – use foam tape along the edges of the window on the back of the page. Try placing your embellishments at different heights within the frames. Some flush with the background, others pieces raised on foam tape, and some actually on top of the window.

quick, simple, fun to make! The perfect Creative Daily layout.
layout supplies: Cardstock: Making Memories; Patterned paper, stickers: Echo Park Paper; foam tape: 3M

Waste Not Want Not. – When trimming off the UPC strip at the bottom of your 12×12 open stock papers, don’t be too quick to discard them! Many, like these from Echo Park Paper - have a sample of the “b side” of the patterned paper. They are perfect for little stripe elements on layouts or cards.

I love to take journaling cards and make them into an almost instant minibook. I am especially excited when the cards are as cute as these from Echo Park Paper.

One of my favorite things in the Summertime line, is the scallop border stickers. If you look closely.. the scallops are imperfect -they wonderfully un-even. Giving them a unique little touch of casual whimsy. The make the perfect edge treatment for my pages. But what to do about their unsightly sticky back?

You could cover the back with paper and trim around it.. but that is way too much work. lol So I look to the cure all in my crafting tool kit… GLITTER!

Just sprinkle your favorite glitter on the exposed sticky…

And you have a perfectly finished edge on BOTH sides of the page!
