I just love making homemade gifts this time of year. I wish I could say that my family would be totally thrilled with all handmade presents, but… they are always happy to have some strewn in with the electronics, toys, and clothes. I started making these little headbands after seeing one almost exactly like it at Anthropologie. (a store I love but rarely buy from  $$$) When making homemade presents, I try to create things that are not too Christmasy so they can be enojoyed for the year to come!

Try making a whole bunch of these quaint little flowers in a variety of colors. Then stick them to headbands, clips, pony os, and buttons.

For step by step printable instructions as seen in the May issue of Simply Handmadeclick here. These flowers are both easy and fun to make.

Gifty Tips

  • be sure to look for high quality materials like real swarovski crystals, glass beads, and finer fabrics.
  • clean backsides – add a little bit of wool felt to cover any unsightly glue or seams.
  • package – think about packaging your handmade goody the way the high end boutiques do. a little tissue and ribbon really go a long way.
