For Matt and my engagement party, I made this fun banner that expressed how much I love “us”. Each little piece has subtle significance for us.
I wanted use materials I already had in my stash. (after all we have a wedding to pay for!) And thats what I did! I utilized my silhouette cameo to create many of the elements on the banner, Xyron to make everything sticky and perfectly adhered together (especially those tricky die cut pieces) and used my sewing machine to sew the pieces together. The banner pieces are all clipped to a piece of butchers twine that is tied to a hook on either end.
I made a second banner to go over the rosette “wall”. This was the backdrop for the dining table and all the yummy food.
This “you and me” cutting was made using a file I found on pinterest. After die cutting it out of kraft card stock then used threw the whole thing through my xyron again and adhered them to the patterned paper before putting it into the frame.
To hang the banner I simply used command hooks that are made for holiday lights and small items. The hooks are adhesive but can be removed from the wall without causing any damage. Sometimes I even use the adhesive strips directly on my crafted item like tape. To hang the rosettes in the picture above, I used fishing line and tied each rosette to directly to the blinds.
