life

Ok, my find of the day… week… century is Tapeswell. All I have to say is, where have they been all my life!

I found them while searching some envelope wraps. In an age of Facebook, email, and IM… I want to try to remember that sometimes old school is the way to go. So in preparing to send out some cards and such…I thought that I would get some fun envelope wrap. Well.. here it is on a roll in my favorite KRAFT backing. And what joy when I found the roll of woodgrain tape!

Now I admit, I have them in my studio, but I have not used them yet. They are sitting on my desk making me smile. But as soon as I bust into them and make something I will post it of course. Until then, their blog has lots of great ideas. And if you hurry over the all new Scrapbooktrends blog… we have a giveaway so you can win some Tapeswell love of your very own!

Incredibooth is my favorite iPhone app right now. It’s like having a photobooth with you where ever you go!

The images are saved in high res, and are suitable for printing. The strips look greeat printed and in digital pages… I Love this app!

Today was another fun taping of the Paperclipping roundtable. If you use technology to enhance your scrapbooking… or ever wanted to. You will want to listen to the show. (LINK will be once it goes live later today!) AND do not despair if you are not a mac/ipad/iphone person. There are some picks that are i-based but the best one of all is available to all technologies! PC, Mac, Android, Blackberry, iphone… etc.

My pick of the week: TypeDrawing for the iPad (also available for the iphone and ipod touch)

This fun little app allows you to play with text, using it as a brush of sorts. You can choose the text, font, colors, and even strokes. It doesn’t take the place of more powerful editors like photoshop or illustrator. But it is a cool little app that has a ton of fun and creative potential!

So I have had a few emails asking me if I was ok.. I just disappeared. I am fine, and I am back. In fact, I am more than fine… I was just busy. I have been SWAMPED with work. I have taken on some new projects and I have had to make some priorities. I do wish I could say that my absence was all work and no play since that would such a noble cause. However, I can not. The truth is I have been struggling with addiction. Addiction to my new iPad. I LOVE THIS THING. I have chosen to play with my iPad over sleep, TV, social time.. you name it. But I think that I am ok now. I am back in the land of the living.. with my iPad in tow.

And to celebrate, this week’s giveaway is for all you fellow i-users out there. I am giving away three $10 iTunes gift cards! To win, leave a comment below. I love to try to incorporate some of the “real stuff” onto a layout. In this layout, I used sand from the actual beach we went to.

Supplies: cardstock, letter tile (Bazzill Basics)

I started by adhering all my pictures down. The strip of pictures on the left is adhered on the 4×12 strip of the same cardstock. (It is actually a flap that opens up to reveal journaling. )

To make this very simple page even more memorable.. on the flap, I created “sandpaper” around the photos with sand that actually came from the beach. Brush the page with liquid adhesive, and sprinkle on the dry sand. Let dry, and brush off the excess.

Had such a good time taping the latest episode of Paperclipping roundtable. This week, my product pick is…

Eco Green Crafts Glass Glintz

Glass Glintz are recycled glass embellishments. I use them just as I would rhinestones and other bling. I LOVE how they look with their smooth rounded tops. Reminds me of vintage glass pieces I have used in jewelry making, but much more economical. And they are made from glass that would otherwise be discarded.

supplies: Patterened papers, journaling cards, stickers DeLovely by Cosmo Cricket. Glass Glintz, All purpose Green Glue by Eco Green Crafts. Photo Credit: Candice Stringham

Be sure to visit the Paperclipping Roundtable and listen to this week’s episode! (I’ll put up the link once it goes live)
