This past labor day weekend was pretty awesome I have to say. My lil sis had a gig up in Jackson, WY…so I decided to tag along. Savannah and I watched “the boy” while she worked. And now, I am totally in love. In love with Wyoming. (yes really)

It was too short of a trip I admit. I could spend a week just laying by the snake river, or eating under the stars. As most road trips that Lea and I go on.. it would not be complete unless we got a little lost, and hit a dead end or two. I ”saw” the sign that said the road was closed ahead, but I didn’t read it. I got as far as the word MANHEAD and didn’t read the rest of the sign. So after doubling back we finally were on our way.

Sedona is 7 today. My baby… my baby is 7. Happy Birthday my little one.

A little about Sedona
- She is the youngest of three sisters. (Sierra 12, Savannah 10, Sedona 7)
- Sedona is full of life, the spunkiest little thing you have ever met. She is wise beyond her years.
- She takes piano, jazz, and ballroom. The girl loves to shake her groove thang!
- Sedona can be a little diva. She is generally a very good girl, but she has been known to throw a divalicous fit every once in a while.
- Full of life, she is always singing, laughing, giggling, and just bringing so much joy to our life.
- The girl can TALK. (and talk and talk!)
- Her birthday is the day after her Uncle Eric!
I love you little one. Hope you have a great day!
In our family… we celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. We start by having a big feast.
After some picture taking, we usually change into our matching Pj’s. (We have had matching Pjs since I was a kid!) Then the wait. We play games, watch movies, and eat eat eat as we wait for midnight. It is at that time that we open our presents! And yes… eat some more. As always, it was so much fun spending time with the family. And seeing the kids open up their gifts is always such a treat. Christmas morning is all about Santa of course. And that is my day, to do a whole lot of nothing!
I hope that your holiday was merry and bright!
It’s 3 am. I have insomnia. I look out my window to find the neighborhood blanketed in white.
All is peaceful. The girls are sleeping.

Don’t you just love life? Full of all the ups and downs and stresses that come with it all. Today is my Birthday. A day that was much more fun when I was younger.Don’t get me wrong… I am looking forward to a birthday dinner at my favorite restaurant in SLC and a Birthday treat.. going to see my FAVORITE country singer in concert tomorrow night! But it just feels like I have reached another benchmark. Another year to look back and wonder if I did everything I could have? Am I wiser? Did I take time to enjoy the truly important things? And who am I? This is where I am a little stuck this year. I am a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend. I love my church calling. (A job that I am assigned to do at church, I happen to be a teacher) I really love my JOB. But what else?As “loony tunes” as this may sound, I really can’t help but feel like I am destined for more. Another year passes and I am still at a loss for that deeper meaning. A higher calling to my life. So as I look at the year ahead.. my birthday wish is this. That I can make the time to enjoy my family more. That I can work to find that deeper calling, something to give my life a little more meaning. And that I will make a difference in someone’s life who is in need. Oh, and to have more fun. I think we can use just a little more fun!
So another holiday season is upon us and I STILL dont have my advent calendar made. So tonight is the night. I am thinking of making it into a family activity…
While looking for inspiration, I found these fun examples. . .

This fun printable could be fun. Maybe just add some glitter and ribbon for texture?

Always inspiring, the Purl Bee created this clean felt calendar. I could even see taking this idea and using it for a home dec. item

Inchmark never disappoints.
And the list can go on and on. Tomorrow I will post the result of tonight’s creative family night.
