Viva Las Vegas pt.1

in life

What a whirlwind of a trip. But it was certainly a fun one. Lea and I drove down to Vegas for business… but threw in some pleasure while we were there of course! Sadly, things started off a little rough. Before we could even make it out of town… we got pulled over. Without getting into the details… lets just say there were two county sheriffs, a city cop, and bail involved. Before making it to the freeway Lea had already dropped a not so cool $500.

So we are on the road, and what a road it was. There was a massive winter storm through central Utah. (Which by the way was a surprise to both of us since we thought we were driving through desert!) We had to go slow and witnessed over a dozen slide offs, a two car accident that later made the news, and a roll over. SCARY. But we FINALLY made to LV. WOO HOO.

The accomodationsTheHotel at Mandalay Bayare incredible. I would recommend to anyone anytime. The service is fabulous. I love that I can get to the room without having to even see the casino, a real plus when bringing the kids. But buyer beware the prices of the hotel reflect the high style and luxury appointments. [yes I got a hook up to get the room for much less than the going rate] You can bet that I stripped the room clean of all non-chargeable items -

After some appointments, Lea and I headed over to the Palazzo to have dinner at CUT.

The highlight of my meal was the Bone Marrow Flan with toasted Brioche. AMAZING.

Then it was off to the CONCERT… watch for Viva Las Vegas pt.2

Looks like FUN! Next time you want to go to Vegas, call me! We own two units at the MGM Signature, which are just a step above THE HOTEL…and yes, kid friendly. I will hook you up with an UNBELIEVABLE deal! :)

Also loved the foodie notes…I went to Cut last time I was there and it was AWESOME! Next time you’re in LV, check out Red Square…they had an appetizer you’d die for: Foie Gras French Toast! Thankfully, I was the only one at the table who eats foie, so it was ALL MINE! :)

I love LV! My husband grew up in Boulder City and his parents still live there. I grew up in the south and I really love my yearly visits to the desert! It truly is beautiful. We have been to Cirque du Solei’s LOVE (a tribute to the Beatles) twice! My sweet husband is a gigantic Beatles fan, and it was AWESOME! One of the best meals I have had was at Emeril’s Fish House. I took pictures and even made a short slideshow in honor of the Food, Glorious Food (I just sang that portion out loud).
