A friend of my sister, who has quickly become a friend of mine, recently adopted a little baby boy. As a shower gift.. I created this little house for her to put in his nursery. The colors match his decor colors, and the little froggy on the bingo card was taken from the shower invite.

I had to share it because this was such a great photograph of the project! The picture was taken by her sister who is obviously a very skilled photographer.

The shadow box is filled with little vintage trinkets and jewels, decorated with fun papers, stickers, and rub ons, and of course some little personal touches. The house shaped box was something that I found years ago at a Japanese dollar store – Daiso. But you can find fun little wooden trays and boxes at most craft stores.

In this very busy, crazy, time for my family.. there is something comforting and soothing in creating for someone else. I am so honored to have had the chance.

supplies used: felt stickers (Martha Stewart), letter stickers (American Crafts – Thickers), patterned paper (Making Memories) rub ons (Hambly Screen Prints – doilies) bingo card (Jenni Bowlin), mini ball trim (Fancy Pants) also vintage jewels, buttons, and glass.

Absolutely beautiful. I know exactly what you mean. Even though hand crafting a gift for someone takes time (which is something we Mom’s don’t have a lot of), the true gift is the delight in completing it and knowing they now have something you lovingly created in their life.
